GREP-Eng

The Graduate Research Education Programme in Engineering (GREP-Eng) is a multi-institutional postgraduate programme focused on research in the field of energy engineering. The Dublin Institute of Technology is participating in this intiative with Trinity College Dublin, University College Cork, and University College Dublin.

Structured modules are taken by doctoral researchers which cover both generic skills (management, innovation, etc.) and specific technical skills (energy technologies, analytical tools, etc.). It is designed to produce high quality, industry-relevant engineering PhD graduates interested in the design and development of devices and systems that will drive economic growth and sustainability and solve problems in the energy sector.

Participants in the programme are undertaking research on a wide variety of energy-related topics including: wave energy; wind energy; life cycle assessment; energy efficiency, heat transfer in nuclear power; and energy security.

Research funding opportunities do arise under Irish Research Council  programmes along with those listed on the DIT site.
