Lynette Magee

Assistant lecturer and PhD researcher


Ms Lynette Magee is currently an assistant lecturer with the department of Mechanical Engineering in Bolton St DIT.  She is working with the department on a full time basis in the areas of Computer Systems and Applications: Computer Aided Design, Mathematical modelling of engineering systems; PLC Automation Systems; Electrical and Electronic Engineering; and the supervision of final year projects.

Her primary Degree is in Mechanical Engineering from University College Dublin, and her Masters is in Engineering Computation from Bolton St. DIT.  Other experiences in industry are with Guinness Brewery, where she worked in the operations department, and as an abstract writer for an Applied Science Citation Index.  She is currently working on a part-time PhD in Solar Photovoltaics (PV), relating to tracking control systems, system efficiency and compensation for shading and low light in PV systems.

Since 2001 Lynette has been involved in Lecturing on a part-time basis for certificate and masters students.  She has also been involved in the distance learning education of primary school teaching methodologies for mathematics teachers, under the revised primary school curriculum of 1999, as part of a Higher Diploma in Arts in Primary Education.  Other areas of experience for her are teaching English as a foreign language, and English for academic purposes for Computing and Physics on foundation programs for university entry for foreign students.
