Subhash Chandra

PhD Researcher

Subhash Chandra PhD researcher at the Dublin Energy Lab in School of Physics, Dublin Institute of Technology. He has completed his M.Tech from Department of Physics at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, India in June 2008 with specialization in solid state technology. He has summited his master thesis entitled “Synthesis and Characterization of Nickel Nanostructures for Device Application”. He joined the Dublin Energy Lab at Focas Institute in Dec. 2008 under the guidance of Dr.Sarah McCormack and Dr. John Doran from Dublin Institute of Technology and Dr.Amenda Chetten from Imperial College, London.

He is working on Luminescent Solar Concentrator; his research involves developing and optimizing the new solar concentrating device by using quantum dots, dyes and the plasmonic properties. Luminescent Solar concentrator, concentrating solar radiation by the phenomenon of total internal reflection and concentrated solar radiation is coupled to solar cells reducing the area of solar cell and ultimately the cost of produced solar electrical power.
