Energy Demand Analysis and Forecasting

The Dublin Energy Lab is undertaking two research projects with leading Irish utility companies, Electric Ireland and Bord Gáis Networks. Both of these projects are to analyse high resolution smart meter energy consumption data, with the objective to advance the state-of-the-art in relation to energy demand analysis. The work will involve the application of advanced statistical, artificial intelligence, data mining and rule-based methods. This will allow utilities to characterise individual and predict short-term sectoral energy demands. The projects will contribute to energy policy development as well as the commercial goals of the participating companies.

For further information on any of the above projects please contact Dr Aidan Duffy
