Brian-Barry

TEDxFulbrightDublin 2018 will address a diverse range of topics under the theme - “Notion of a Nation” - including Irish culture, justice, consent, direct provision, environmental sustainability and well-being.

Dr Brian Barry is a Law Lecturer at DIT and has undertaken research programmes as a visiting scholar at Columbia University, New York and the University of Toronto. His primary research interest is in how judges make decisions and this talk explores how judges can make better, fairer decisions if they learn about, and participate in, experiments testing for errors in their decision-making.

TEDxFulbrightDublin 2018 aims to discover ideas and spark conversations in local communities. Through its social media channels, TEDxFulbrightDublin has asked the public what “Notion of a Nation” means to them –  responses have varied from ‘inclusion’ and ’diversity’, to ‘potential’ and ‘growth’.

TEDxFulbrightDublin 2018 is generously supported by the U.S. Embassy in Ireland, the Fulbright Commission in Ireland, the Geological Survey of Ireland and the Irish Fulbright Alumni Association.
